Meet the Ladygrove Dental Practice team

James Brown

Practice Owner

Dental Surgeon BDS University of Bristol 1991.

I have worked for both NHS and private general practices. I established the Ladygrove Practice in May 1998. The Ladygrove has grown to a three surgery practice offering high quality private dental care. I am extremely lucky to have such a fabulous team in the practice without whom we would be unable to provide our high quality service.

Nicholas Arnold

Associate Dentist

Dental Surgeon BDS University of Birmingham 1998.

I qualified from the University of Birmingham in 1998, and after a year of Vocational Training with my wonderful mentor Belinda Lund in Sussex, settled in Oxford. My first associate position was at a large and busy, all-NHS practice in Abingdon. In 2003, I was lucky enough to be appointed as the associate at Ladygrove Dental Practice, where I have remained very happily ever since.

I like to get to know my patients - and their teeth - properly, and many have now been coming to see me for well over 20 years. I aim to provide my patients with only the dentistry they actually need and want, in the most comfortable way I can manage, at a fair price.

I carry out all routine dental procedures to a high standard, but my meticulous nature means I particularly enjoy endodontics (root canal fillings). Hands-on courses and reading keep me up-to-date.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three school-age children. I love music and play piano and cello, though perhaps not quite as well as I used to when I had more time to practise! I have had a great interest in electromechanical machines since I was a toddler and have a small workshop at home where I restore clocks, vintage radios and telephones, and any other interesting things which come my way. I also like walking and cycling.

Elenza Jacob

Associate Dentist

I joined the practice in Feb 2023 and have experience working in NHS and private care , having worked in Community Dental Care, Out of Hours Emergency clinics and General Dental practice across Oxfordshire and Berkshire and Wiltshire.

From the time I joined the practice, I have been supported by an excellent team and feel that this is a family friendly practice, where patients are looked after well.

I regularly attend post graduate courses and have completed Post Graduate Certificate Course in Restorative dentistry. My interests are in minimal invasive dentistry, aesthetic treatments and clear aligners for aligning teeth.

Outside work I like to spend time with family and friends. My other interests are walking, reading, travelling and cooking.

Jonathan Lawrence

Associate Dentist

I qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2011, and completed my vocational training in Rotherham. I have worked in NHS and private general dental practice and urgent care centres across South Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire and Buckinghamshire, as well as for the RAF and Army. I have a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, including whitening, crowns, veneers and composites. I also enjoy oral surgery, including wisdom tooth extraction, and am currently studying towards a postgraduate diploma in this field. I am friendly and will always do my best to put my patients at ease, making their visit as comfortable as possible.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with his wife Mel and young son Henry, especially at the zoo or a soft play, or further afield exploring the world. I enjoy watching movies and a good series, and enjoy a good pint with friends.

Lukhvinder Kaur

Hygienist/ Therapist

I have extensive experience working across multiple private practices including a complex-implant specialist clinic in central oxford. Aside from meeting the demands of general hygienist services I have invested in attending multiple courses in 'Harley Street' to advance my periodontal (gum disease) expertise. This first-class experience has allowed me to oversee and support periodontal specialists. My goal as a Hygienist is to strive towards delivering excellence with helping patients to achieve optimum and comfortable gum health.

Creating a caring, comfortable, stress-free environment for my patients is paramount, regardless of their age or gender. I treat patients with kindness and respect their confidentiality; whilst working profusely to put patients at ease with an empathic and caring approach when providing pain free dental care. In addition, I am skilled in providing preventative care to my patients and education to enable them to employ best practice between visits.

I am a keen swimmer since aged 12 and also enjoy equestrian horse-riding and maintaining the care of horses.

I have an adventurous nature when travelling the world, but also enjoy the best of the simple things in life; including exploring new clusters of the Cotswolds' with long coffee walks as well as spending time with my loved ones.
